Starting from September 2006, Macedonian Ecological Society (MES) started with realization of a project called "Strengthening the network of ecologists in Macedonia through capacity building of the Macedonian Ecological Society" founded by British Ecological Society in the frame of BUILDING CAPACITY FOR ECOLOGY FUND.

Project duration is tree years, starting on 01.09.2006.

The main aim of this project is to promote ecological science in Macedonia through strengthening the network of ecologists and capacity building of Macedonian Ecological Society. Macedonian Ecological Society unifies the ecologists throughout the country and from different institutions

The main project objectives are:
- Capacity building of the human resources;
- To increase number of ecology experts participating in MES;
- To strengthen the cooperation between the ecology experts and the Macedonian authorities;
- To give a strong impulse to the promotion of ecology in Macedonia;
- Providing technical assistance and support for MES activities and projects.

Designated project activities are:
- TRAINING COURSES ON NGO MANAGEMENT for representatives of different specialist groups within MES. The goals are strengthening the capacities for project management, management of human resources and fund raising.
- PUBLICATION OF NEWSLETTER (three issues annually) with information of MES activities and other events as a tool for dissemination of information among the members.
- MAINTENANCE OF THE MES' WEB-PAGE AS A TOOL FOR INFORMATION EXCHANGE AND PUBLICATION OF JOURNAL AND PROCEEDINGS
- ANNUAL MEETING (GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MES AND LECTURES BY INVITED SPEAKERS

Supplied finances from the British Ecological Society provide renting an office and also provision and adapting of it with furnishing of computer equipment and furniture, as a place for better managing of all present and further activities and projects of MES.
